I saw a promotion offering an $18 microdermabrasion facial (aka diamond peel) for first time customers and instinctively signed up for it. I was having pretty good skin today when I headed to the outlet. Pretty good skin in my definition = No huge/red pimples visible to the untrained eye.
Decided to try a regular facial in addition to the microdermabrasion 'cus I had a good feeling about the place; It was well-decorated, professional and the beauty consultant who attended to me was sooo pretty!
But my good feeling wasn't a good feeling after all, when I emerged out of the facial room with a face that looked as though a war was fought on it. I now have an unsightly, volcanic-looking face with huge red bumps all over. :{ The massage was awesome but the extraction was excruciating I felt as though my face was being cut open by a knife.
I should never have strayed from my regular facial place la. :( Its extractions are virtually painless I could like SLEEP through it. And most importantly it doesn't leave any red marks on my face and make me wanna hide my head in a hole like an ostrich.
so come on, tell me.

We're learning the choreo for Salsa now and I'm having difficulty catching up with the new steps! Fortunately I have a pro partner (aka Jonny Boy) but I kinda feel bad sometimes since I keep stepping on his feet WITH MY HEELS ON or like jabbing his face with my elbow. HAHA OK NOT REALLY it's probably my subconscious mind acting out on its own :P
Last night was our very first Salsa outing! Woohoo! Even though it was just a short supper at Ah Lian's after practice but it's a start to many more outings to come! Hopefully we can head to Al Ameen for supper and catch Fame together next week. :)
Photos from last week:
Watched 500 Days of Summer with Phong, Gary and Jasper after Salsa supper. I didn't know what movie I was watching since they booked the tickets for me but as soon as I walked into the theatre I was like "omg I watched this already haha." And I feel guilty making Uncle Jasper miss almost 30 minutes of the movie.
Made an impromptu decision to go prawning at Punggol after the show. We managed to catch a total of seven prawns with two rods which I think isn't too bad for prawning n00bs like us! That included the MASTER KING PRAWN which we were convinced was being operated by a remote control 'cus it kept crawling round and round the pond and siam-ing everyone's bait. So we resorted to unorthodox methods like SPEARING the elusive prawn with the end of the ROD. HAHA it was damn amusing la 'cus people were like slowly and quietly trying to bait the prawns while we were there jabbing the prawns with the rod. We also tried picking the prawns up chopstick style using two rods and sneakily wrapping the string round the prawn hoping to pull it up.
The ultimate one was when Gary saw a curious prawn swimming near the surface. He just quietly squatted there then all of sudden unleashed his Tiger Hand Skill and snatched it from the water HAHA. Prawning was a pretty interesting experience la. :)

I have a sudden craving for takopachi again! The ones that Jieli made were seriously not bad eh I wanna try learning it too. Just flour, milk and eggs for the outer layer and like whatever you want for the filling! He didn't have the octopus filling so we just made do with ham and cheese, which was equally yummy since I don't exactly like octopus. Looked really simple when Jieli was making it but I have a feeling it's quite easy to screw up especially when flipping the balls.
Photos from my last visit to hall:
YUM YUM.
Had a catchup session with Jareth and Roomie on Weds at Black Angus. I absolutely LOVE their lunch set menu 'cus it's SO much cheaper than having your dinner there. Free flow of soft drinks, choice of soup/salad (omg you must try their specialty steak soup!), main course and dessert (chocolate cake or ice cream). As usual I psychoed them to order the Prime Rib of Steak since it's one of the restaurant's highlights but the steak that day didn't taste very fresh and I was a tad disappointed. We also chose a mix of dessert 'cus it's always nicer to enjoy your warm slice of chocolate cake with cold vanilla ice cream :) Which reminds me of Seventh Heaven's molten chocolate cake that I'm so craving for now! Too bad I got no exclusive "Yummy Motivation" hor Phong? Haha.

2009 SINGAPORE PRIMARY SCHOOL LEAVING EXAMINATION MATHS Qn18 Paper 2
Jim bought some chocolates and gave half of it to Ken. Ken bought some sweets and gave half of it to Jim. Jim ate 12 sweets and Ken ate 18 chocolates. The ratio of Jim’s sweets to chocolates became 1:7 and the ratio of Ken’s sweets to chocolates became 1:4. How many sweets did Ken buy?

Poor 12 year old kids eh. I wonder how long they took to draw their model diagrams hahaha.
Anyway if you didn't get 68 and you're not in primary school you ought to start worrying about your future :{

YESS I'm finally done with my Negotiation Presentation! Wasn't very prepared but what the heck at least now that it's over I don't have to stress for anything! BTW I downloaded L4D but it's reeeally boring playing at home by myself and I got sick of it after two games. There's like no one to scream to or laugh at so it takes all the fun outta it.
Visited hall two days ago it was nice seeing everyone but it kinda reminded me how fast time flies. Now that I'm a final year student I truly regret not making the most out of my university days. Like I wasn't extremely active in hall, didn't join school CCAs, avoided NBS clubs/activities, skipped lectures and tutorials; In fact I think I was pretty much considered a social hermit. Goodness I can just sink into depression thinking about it. I DON'T WANT TO GRADUATE!! :(
But nevertheless I'm grateful for the friends I've made the past 2.5 years. They've really made a difference in my life. And at least I'm trying to make the most out of my final year now.
Haha I think it's funny, how in secondary school I assumed people usually find boyfriends in JC and that I wouldn't be an exception. Then two years of JC passed by and I thought university is where mature relationships are formed instead of gullible puppy loves. Then now that I'm in university and on the brink of graduating, I imagine myself as a sad spinster living with ten cats in a small corner apartment. SHUCKS. I don't wanna be left with dating agencies and random matchmaking sessions it feels so pathetic la. Even my parents are getting worried. And my Dad thinks that I'm an anti-social loner who is lucky to even have friends. But that's another topic altogether hahaha.
OH but don't worry I have no intention of joining the Final Year Desperadoes Club. You know the "Final Year Syndrome"? When guys (and some girls) in their final year turn desperate and try to cast their net as far and wide as possible hoping to reel an unsuspecting one in. This is 'cus apparently, university is one of the last few chances of finding love and once you go out to work you'll probably be too occupied to think about such things. So yes there you go. The Final Year Syndrome.
Wah talented to the max. Watch it on youtube if part of the video is cut off! Nick Pitera is on the right!
